A national builder with local prices. Lennar traces back to a two-man Miami outfit in 1954, took its name in 1971 from Leonard Miller and Arnold Rosen, and has been on the NYSE ever since. What matters to a buyer here is the model: since 1989 they have sold Everything’s Included, which puts appliances, smart-home kit and the finishes other builders treat as upgrades into the base price at one published number, so there is far less to negotiate and far less to be surprised by. Their Next Gen plans — a private suite with its own entrance, kitchenette and bath inside the main house — are the strongest multigenerational option in the corridor, which matters near Fort Cavazos.

Five communities with available homes inside the area 4me covers: Rancho Del Cielo and Cool Water at Sonterra in Jarrell, Flint Ridge in Salado, and Preserve at Lions Park and Atascosa Estates in Temple. They also hold Clayton Ranch (Copperas Cove), Freedom Crossing (Killeen) and The Ridge at Knob Creek (Temple), which have plans to build but no finished homes at the moment.
